The Ringette Nationals 2003 in Waterloo ON starts on March 31st, 2003. Volunteers are needed e.g. minor officials. Coaches Forum - Keith will cover more under G & T. Provincial A's, will be hosted by London on Thursday, March 6th - Sunday, March 9, 2003 at the Western Fair Arena Complex. The AGM for Ontario Ringette Association will be held at the Four Points Sheraton in Toronto May 23rd, - 25th, 2003. New chair for Athlete Development - Keley Brown will be replacing Terry Watters.

High School Ringette Tournament - Tuesday, April 1st, 2003. Hosted by St Mike's Catholic Secondary School.

Eagle Lake - staff needed - Counsellors and Instructors, application on ORA web site.

Validating not complete yet. London Tween AA - female on the bench - fully certified Level 2 for the Tween AA Championship. See ORA Minutes - recommended - no motion passed. Discussion. Send list to Mary of all coach(s) involved, she will take it to the Board level to solve.

Suggestion: Novice C Level coaching bench to be less qualified than now stipulated. Send letter to Mike/Kate to take to the Standing Committee Meeting on April 11th.

7.4 Elite Development - Luc

Regional All Star Team - Applications for Head Coach are to be in by April 1st, 2003.

'A' League - Luc

Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 8th, 2003 at the Upper Optimist Hall in Stratford.

7.5 Games & Tournament - Ginette/Keith

Western Region received no wild card sports in the 'A's'.

Regionals 2003, the schedule is out. (Change under Junior 'B' - Seaforth is actually St Mary's.

Registration and payment is from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20th at RIM Park. If it not possible Thursday night, do so on Friday a.m before your first game.

Fundraiser - Donate a Gift for the prize table (1 prize per team).

Minor Officials - contact Ginette with names and phone numbers to contact.

Final price of the Regionals will be announced.

Shot Clocks will not be used - not enough for each arena, and not enough qualified volunteers to run them.

$200 Good Faith Bond - those not paid will be contacted.

Nationals 2003 - received a $10,000 Grant from the Trillium Foundation for Coaching Symposium - open to any coach or any sport. Symposium has evening sessions from Tuesday - Saturday for coaches and athletes. Day time sessions on Friday and Saturday for coaches, players, and parent volunteers. Admission free to this event.

Lorrie Horne - Team Canada 2002 - team to practice with her (first come first served) - team can win tickets for final games.

Check the web site. Minor Official volunteers (training the week before) plus many other volunteer spots are available to work. Major sponsor for the event - Rogers Television.

On another note, Team Ontario at the 2003 Canada Winter Games undefeated to date.

7.6 Membership Services - Ken

no report - Releases are to be discussed at the Standing Committee Meetings, April 11th, 2003. Cross boarder releases - send opinions to Ken before April 4th, 2003.

Remember - Volunteer Recognition, deadline is April 1st, 2003 + the Pat Redman Award. Provincial Volunteer deadline is April 1st, 2003 (must be received prior to deadline). Send a complete resume of your volunteer.

9.0 Nominating Chair Report - Doug

The following positions stand open this year: Chairperson, 1st Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and all Co-ordinator positions. E-mail your nominations to Doug. To date, none have been received.

10.0 New Business:

Shot Clock - One (1) is missing, please advise who might have it in their possession. Notify Mary as soon as possible. All six (6) have been promised for the Nationals in Waterloo.

Reminder of Team gift for the prize table for the Regionals.

11.0 Announcements

Western Region Annual General Meeting will be held Thursday, April 24th at 7:30 p.m., here at the Spruce Lodge, Stratford. Please check over the Policies & By Laws for Western Region. If you do not have a copy of the Policies & By-Laws, print one off the web site. All requests for changes have to be to Mary on or before March 24th, 2003.
