Games & Tournament Report: November 18, 2004
It has been brought to my attention that the Coaches Handbooks, which were distributed at the September meeting have not been copied by the associations and given to the coaches. These handbooks are a valuable resource for all coaches and if they are not distributed to the coaches then there can be a number of problems as a result. We are planning to make this resource available online in the near future.
Game report form submission was rather disappointing. This is a process that has been in place for many years and should not be treated as something new. All games home and away whether they are league or exhibition need to be reported. There is to be only one team per game report page. Keith has been working on an online submission form, which will hopefully streamline the process. There is a fine of $25.00 per team for not submitting these forms by the 5th of each month. Please remember that each team also is responsible for submitting a Tournament Game report form.
Intent to Proceed to Provincial forms are also available in the handbook. I have asked that they be brought to the next A/AA meeting so as to prevent a deluge of paper on January 1st. Coaches at the A/AA level also need to be working on their Wild Card Applications so they do not come to the Prelim Tournament unprepared.
I will be talking with the Presidents of the Leagues to set a date in December for a preliminary seeding meeting. Final seeding will take place in January.
Associations holding tournaments need to submit their paperwork on time as stated in the tournament packages. There is a matrix available online that should be used to submit the results. There are fines for not having this information into the G&T Coordinator on time as laid out in the tournament package.
Once again I would like to point out that there are fines in place for incomplete and/or not submitting the forms.
