WORL A/AA LEAGUE April 19,2005

 

Luc opened the meeting at 7:37

Attendance sheet was passed around. No new business was added to the agenda

MOTION: moved by Mitchell, seconded by St. Marys that the minutes of June 15, 04 be accepted as read. CARRIED

The following volunteered for the WORL Executive for the 2005-2006 season:

Changes to the WORL By-Laws

    1. Re-scheduling of games: Discussion followed the Chair's presentation and changes were made.

a. /If any game can't be played on the scheduled date the following procedure must be used.

      1. The visiting or home team must be given a minimum of 3 days notice of a game cancellation
      2. The home team will have 5 days from the time the canceled game was to be played, to offer the visiting team a minimum of 2 alternate dates to play the game
      3. When the alternate dates are offered, there must be at least 3 days between the 2 dates
      4. The visiting team must be notified at least 5 days before the earliest alternate date. At this time, the division convenor must be notified of the cancellation and the alternate dates offered to the visiting team
      5. The visiting team must notify the home team of the date selected to play within the next 2 days. At this time, both teams must notify the division convenor of the date the dame is to be played.
      6. Failure to reschedule by this procedure will be perceived as a forfeited game and will result in a $300.00 fine.

Moved by Keith Kaiser, seconded by Peter Westelaken that the above changes be accepted. CARRIED

      1. The Chair submitted the following change:

E)Add: Teams making any schedule changes, other than the exceptions noted above, will be assessed a $100.00 schedule change administration fee.

Discussion was held and a decision was made not to proceed with this change. The League will monitor this for next season.

All Association Reps must be represented at every meeting. If cannot attend, please send a prepared substitute.

Point of Clarification: large gaps in schedule will be reviewed at the review meeting of the schedule

February 17-19 Prelims in Elora-Fergus

AA Prelims will be held the end of January or the beginning of February. A suggestion was made that the Waterloo Tournament will be held in the time frame needed for AA Prelims and it could be a possibility.
