Regionals 16 London March 24 - 26 2016

For all teams attending Regionals the game sheets will not have team rosters. Team staff will be required to either use their stickers of fill out by hand as in previous years.

The Team Rosters extracted from the ORA Database have been posted on the Regional web page. These rosters serve as the Team Registration Form for the tournament and the source for Program Information. It is the responsibility of each Association to insure the information is correct.

Rules for U8 Play and the rules for running the game clock with a 7 goal spread have been posted on the web site. These are from the Games and Tournament manual as per the ORA rules for sanctioned event play. They can be viewed from the left side menu

A U7 Skills Event is part of the Good Friday Regional Events. This is an exciting opportunity for these beginning Ringette stars to enjoy on ice mentoring from some of Western Regions outstanding and successful players. For full details click on the link in the left hand menu

Qualified Minor Officials are never in abundance and those wishing may apply on the Regionals home page. There will be Shot Clocks for all U12 and above. If we do not have time keepers, score keepers and/or shot clock operators we will be requesting that the Teams provide from their fans. These hours will not count towards an associations volunteer requirements.

As with all previous years, U8 teams will each get two games and these games will both be on the same day, all U8 teams will receive a medal at the end of their second game and all U8 games will be curfewed at 50 minutes from the time the Zamboni leaves the ice.

All round robin games may end in a tie, all medal games will play to a winner. Each team is required to be ready to go on the ice 10 minutes before scheduled start time and there will be only a 3 minute warm up period after the Zamboni leaves the ice.

Games can start 10 minutes early except for the first game of the day and medal round games. Your team must be ready to start the game 10 minutes before game time.

All final placing, determination of who goes on to medal games, and resolving of ties in round robin play standings will be done in the tournament office. These will not be conducted until all results required have been verified to the actual game sheets. It is a team's responsibility to find out if and where they play on Sunday - there are too many teams and divisions to allow the tournament organizers to call everyone.

Western Region will have an executive member in each arena during the complete event to represent the region if problems arise but the tournament office will be at Westeern Fair and any major problems must be brought to this venue for resolution.

The Ontario Ringette Fair Ice Policy is in effect for this tournament. A copy of Western Region application of this policy can be found in the index on the left side of this page.Western Region will be monitoring compliance with this policy.

The Western Region Code of Conduct is in effect for this tournament with a no tolerance policy. Please remember that this tournament is for the enjoyment of all.

Due to Policy in the host municipalities Western Region is now required to pay full ice costs up front prior to the Regionals. To accomplish this we now require final payment from all associations. The payment must be received either at the February WRRA General meeting or prior to the meeting by mail to the treasurer Jeanette Saint 6 Winding Woods Cres. London ON N6G 3G5. An invoice has been prepared for each association showing the teams committed to attend. The Final Payment Invoices can be accessed from the side menu Please print your invoice and submit with your deposit to verify teams attending. Any changes Must be marked on the invoice and the total adjusted prior to submission.

A tournament program will be provided at check-in for each team and souvenir copies will be for sale throughout the event. As sales have never breen brisk on Programs the quantity printed is being lowered so they will be in short supply. Also available at each venue will be ticket sales on the prize table.

The Prize Table will have once again fabulous gifts for everyone including a Loonie Stick and a Toonie stick. Tickets will be available for sale at every arena and you do not have to be present at the drawing to win. The draw will be conducted at 6 PM on Friday.
